The National Immigration Project and 139 organizations delivered a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement calling for the closure of the ICA-Farmville Detention Center in Virginia and release of everyone currently detained inside the facility, due to the long history of impunity for rights abuses in ICA-Farmville, the significant waste of public funds to keep the facility open, and the Town of Farmville's indication to cease contracting with ICE for the detention center.
