Program Description
While immigrant defenders have many options for protecting witnesses and preserving the record for appeal, knowing how to object effectively is perhaps the most important tool. To object effectively, immigrant defenders must know the evidentiary framework in immigration court. Beyond the evidentiary framework in immigration court, the faculty will discuss common objections to DHS questions and strategic considerations. Finally, to illustrate how to object effectively in immigration court, the faculty will role play various common scenarios in immigration court.
